The Auxiliary to Driscoll Children’s Hospital is excited to announce our “My Favorite Things” Quilt Contest!
We are currently accepting crib size quilts to be part of this quilting contest. The winning quilter will have the opportunity to have their quilt auctioned off at Fiesta De Los Ninos, with the funds raised going to help fund projects and services of Driscoll Children’s Hospital. Other quilts submitted will be sold at the Carousel Gift Shop at Driscoll to raise funds for the Auxiliary to Driscoll Children’s Hospital.
Contest Rules:
- Quilts should express an uplifting theme, and feature our "My Favorite Things" theme.
- Finished quilt size should be approximately 42” x 50 “ (crib size).
- Use only 100% new product.
- Use 100% washable cotton fabrics, cotton thread and batting of your choice.
- All fabrics must be prewashed.
- Quilts should be signed with a permanent marking pen on the back. Please use only the first name of the quilt maker, city, state, and date.
- Quilts must be freshly laundered with construction markings removed. Quilts must be wrapped in a clean plastic bag with the entry form or donation information enclosed.
- Quilts must be delivered to Driscoll Children’s Hospital Information Desk, and must be received by September 1, 2008.
- Contestants may submit as many quilts as desired, but may win only one prize. All entries will become the property of DCH and used for purposes to raise monies for the hospital.
- To be eligible for the Under 18 category, the contestant must not have turned 18 years old prior to September 1, 2008. Proof of age may be requested.
Awards and Prizes:
Awards will be presented for first, second, and third place, as well as recognition on the Driscoll Children’s Hospital website.
Your quilt should reflect a child’s favorite things...toys, games, animals, and childhood activities.
All proceeds from this shop benefit the young patients of Driscoll Children's Hospital!
