(Corpus Christi, TX) After a decade of giving back to the children of South Texas, Driscoll Children’s Hospital Auxiliary is proud to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of its Cottage Resale Shop. The event will take place Tuesday, October 17, 2006 at 9:55 a.m. and include a ribbon cutting ceremony followed by an open house at the shop.

As a project of the Auxiliary to Driscoll Children’s Hospital, the Cottage Shop has been one of the biggest fundraising ventures raising more than $800,000 in ten years. The Auxiliary uses the funds generated from sales of donated new and used clothing and books to sponsor hospital projects including college scholarships for current and former oncology and cardiology patients, summer camp tuition, new play equipment, games and reading materials for playrooms, and renovations to hospital facilities like the chapel, lobby areas, and the Emergency Room.

“The success of the Cottage Shop is due to so many individuals – those who take the time to donate items, those who shop at the store supporting Driscoll and its Auxiliary, those who volunteer to help make the shop run,” says Jan Cuellar Auxiliary President. “We want to thank all those individuals for more than a decade of commitment and dedication.”
