(Corpus Christi, TX)) Children with cancer and other blood disorders will have something new to play with while receiving chemotherapy or waiting for their doctor’s appointments at Driscoll Children’s Hospital’s Oncology and Hematology Clinic. Mr. Billy Martin, general manager of Allen Samuels Chevrolet, will donate a unique tiled game table on Thursday, April 20 at 10:30 a.m. in the clinic. The hospital’s oncology physicians, clinic staff, and young patients will be on-hand to receive the table.

Artwork created by pediatric oncology patients has been converted into ceramic tiles that surround a checker board on a card table-sized game table. Allen Samuels Chevrolet purchased the table for $12,500 at the 20th Annual Cattle Barons fundraiser during its live auction. Funds raised from the event benefited the American Cancer Society as well its local programs and services.

“Many young lives will be touched again and again,” says Brenda Tollett, Chair of the 2006 Cattle Barons said of the generous donation.

The beautiful tile table was crafted by Cornelia and Ed Gates of Aloe Tile in Corpus Christi and the metal based was create by Christopher Ortiz of Coastal Propeller.
