ONE OF DRISCOLL’S VERY OWN IS INDUCTED INTO A NATIONAL BOARD OF DIRECTORS POSITION

Phyllis Secraw, Certified Diabetes Educator for Driscoll Children’s Hospital was invited to join the National Certification Board for Diabetes Educators.

(Corpus Christi, TX) October 2006 marks another exciting event for Driscoll Children’s Hospital. Phyllis Secraw, RN, C, CDE one of Driscoll’s many outstanding employees was honored this month with an induction into the Board of Directors for the National Certification Board for Diabetes Educators.

The board is made up of eleven men and women from around the country. All of the directors are either doctors, nurses, dieticians, social workers or pharmacists and are also Certified Diabetes Educators. The board’s responsibilities include among others: certifying educators, creating examinations, ensuring that the NCBDE mission is carried out and hiring the Chief Executive Officer.

Since opening its doors in 1953, Driscoll Children’s Hospital has been offering hope and healing to the children of South Texas for half a century.
