Target Audience
This program is designed for registered nurses, community physicians, pediatricians, nephrologists, and transplant coordinators working in the field of caring for patients with renal insufficiency and/ or an organ transplant.
Purpose and Goal
The purpose of this education activity is to provide physicians and registered nurses with clinical updates on current trends and issues in the field caring for patients with renal insufficiency and/ or an organ transplant.
- Topics for physicians include: pediatric liver transplantation, Paired donation, desensitizing protocol, immunosuppressant agents and protocols, and the highly sensitized patients.
- Topics for the registered nurses and social workers include: obesity, and diet recommendations and restrictions, pharmacologic agents, small bowel reconstruction, and life style transitions from pediatric to adult.
The goal of this education activity is to provide the physicians and registered nurses with strategies which will improve the overall outcomes of the pediatric patient, their family and community in balance with the advocacy for the safe patient care through life changes.
CME ACCREDITATION
The activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with Essentials Areas and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education through the co-sponsorship of the Driscoll Children's Hospital and Coastal Bend Kidney Foundation. Driscoll Children's Hospital is accredited by the Texas Medical Association to provide continuing medical education for physicians. Driscoll Children's Hospital takes responsibility for the content, quality, and scientific integrity of this CME activity.

Driscoll Children's Hospital designates this educational activity for a maximum of [eight (8)] hours in AMA PRA Category 1 Credit ™. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
CEU ACCREDITATION STATEMENT

CNE ACCREDITATION STATEMENT:
